However, dogs are not particularly good at running their own baths, let alone getting in them. Added to that, they tend to love the great outdoors and all the adventures they can find in it.
So, whether your hero loves splashing in the water, the mud in the woods or running through the fallen leaves in the local park, you can almost guarantee that if there is a chance to get dirty, they’ll grab it with four paws and enjoy every filthy minute of it.
Of course, after the fun comes the clean up. This is where Ella’s Bark House can help. Dog grooming most commonly entails brushing and bathing your dog to clean their coat and make it look shiny and smell great. However, there are many other benefits to regular grooming sessions. The services we offer at Ella’s can also help with:
- The removal of built up dirt and hair where parasites, mites and bacteria can thrive thus reducing the risk of skin infections
- Clearing/preventing flea and tick infestations
- Helping your dog to regulate his or her body temperature
- Regular nail trims to prevent painful ingrown or overgrown nails that can make walking painful and difficult
Every dog has its own personality and we want them all to be happy and healthy. We understand that in order to provide the best experience possible, we need to get to know each dog, so that is exactly where we begin, We start with making each dog comfortable and relaxed so that he or she will be confident in our care. Ella’s Bark House provides an environment that is calm and quiet with only one dog in the studio at any one time. Our dog grooming cuts and styles begin with our knowledge of the breeds. The techniques and styles may be customised to the breed standard, determined by own personal preference or by the coat condition, health, temperament or behaviour of your dog.

Full Groom
The Full Groom is our most comprehensive grooming package, indeed, it will leave you believing your dog is fresh out of the box! It will include:
- General wellness check
- Brush out prior to bathing
- Cleaning of eyes and ears
- Bath and shampoo
- Blow dry, brush out and removal of excess undercoat
- Nail clipping where required
- Clipped/scissored cut to breed standard or owners specification
- Sanitary areas tidied
- A spritz of cologne!
Prices for the Full Groom will depend on the breed of dog and the condition of his or her coat, but as an outline of prices, Toy and Small breeds from £40 Medium breeds from £48 Large breeds from £60 Extra Large breeds from £80 and handstripping from £60
Bath and Brush
The Bath and Brush service at Ella’s is ideal for in-between Full Grooms or for short haired breeds and will leaving your dog feeling like royalty! The service itself includes:
- General wellness check
- Bath and shampoo
- Blow dry, brush out and removal of excess undercoat
- Nail clipping and feet trimming where required
- A spritz of cologne!
Prices for the Bath and Brush service will depend on the breed and coat condition but will start at £35
Puppy Familiarisation
Ella’s Bath House offer a free puppy familiarisation service in order to get your puppy used to the sounds, smells and sights of the grooming studio. We believe that regular grooming is important for dogs of all ages and when it comes to puppies, it is beneficial for them to be introduced to grooming as soon as possible. We would ask that puppies have had all their jabs and are at least 12 weeks old and no older than 16 weeks for this service. The session itself will include the following:
- A chance to look around and explore the studio, after which he or she will be lifted and placed on the grooming table. The table can be raised up and down and we will let your puppy experience this fun movement!
- Brushes and other equipment will be introduced to your puppy whilst on the table so that they can have a smell and a good look at them!
- Once they are happy with the equipment we will give them a light grooming so that they can get used to the feeling!
- We will also start picking up their paws and having a close look at them so that they will be happy for someone to do this in the future and if needed, we can give the nails a free clip, this will get them used to the sensation and help minimise the risk of puppy scratches!
